Tuesday forecast: Highs expected in 90s, severe weather a possibility in night hours

National Weather Service officials were expecting highs Tuesday in the 90s with an elevated risk of tornado risk and 75 mph wind in portions of north central and northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

The area was under a thunderstorm risk Tuesday with an elevated tornado risk when storms are expected to move in between 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., officials said.

Officials also were expecting damaging wind up to 75 mph with the line of storms which are capable of producing numerous tornadoes,  officials warned. Hail up to an inch in diameter was also expected, officials said.

Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport is mostly cloudy at 65 degrees. Farther south at Midway Airport conditions at the same at 63 degrees.
