Two major fires burning in the East Bay area, the Patterson and Corral fires, are both 92% contained, according to an update from Cal Fire.
The Patterson fire started burning Monday around the intersection of Patterson Pass and Midway Road, which is west of the 580 Freeway and south of Mountain House. The Patterson fire only burned through 95 acres in Alameda County and there have been no confirmed injuries or structures destroyed.
The Corral fire started burning Saturday near the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Site 300, with flames spreading along the 580 Freeway southwest of Tracy. As of Tuesday night, the Corral fire has burned through 14,168 acres. Cal Fire confirmed that one structure was destroyed in the fire, and there have been two fire personnel and civilian injuries.
Although the fires are nearly fully contained, there are concerns that the rising temperatures could further fuel grass fires, like the Patterson and Corral fires.
