Livia Voigt, a 19-year-old Brazilian student, has been crowned the world’s youngest billionaire, according to Forbes’ 2024 Billionaires List. This year’s list is notable for its youth, with the 25 youngest billionaires all aged 33 or younger, combined with a fortune of 110 billion dollars.
The rise of young heirs to the ranks of billionaires is becoming increasingly common. Among them is Livia Voigt, whose wealth stems from her status as one of the largest single shareholders of VEG, Latin America’s largest electric motor manufacturer. The company was co-founded by her grandfather and two late billionaires and has factories in over 10 countries recording revenues of approximately $6 billion in 2022.
Despite her vast wealth, Livia Voigt is currently a university student in Brazil and has yet to take a board seat or executive position at VEG. Along with her older sister Dora Voigt de Assis, who is 26 and graduated in architecture in 2020, she is among the seven new faces on the list of the youngest billionaires for 2024. The Voigt sisters are part of the legacy of VEG, a multinational corporation that has factories in over 10 countries and recorded revenues of approximately $6 billion in 2022.
