Community leader honored

A longtime Campbell business owner is being recognized for her community leadership by both the Campbell Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Campbell Business Association (DCBA).

The Chamber named Bombshell Boutique owner Brooke Ramirez Citizen of the Year for her “outstanding contributions to the community of Campbell,” while the DCBA is honoring her for her contributions “toward making downtown Campbell the place that it is.”

“One event at a time and one year at a time, a rotating cast of characters kept working together to create culture in downtown Campbell, and Brooke’s been one of those characters the entire time,” reads a post on the DCBA website.

Bombshell Boutique will celebrate 18 years in business later this year; the women’s clothing store has been located in downtown Campbell for almost all of that time.

Music from the heart

Heart Matter, featuring vocalist Amy D and percussionist Dillon Vado, will perform April 14 at 1:30 p.m. in an Ainsley House Garden Concert.
Both Amy D and Vado are San Jose natives now residing in Oakland. Heart Matter’s original songs combine chamber music with Brazilian rhythm and jazz improvisation.

Tickets are $35 at https://www.campbellmuseums.com/shop or 408-866-2718. The Ainsley House is located at 51 N Central Ave.
