Everyone stop. Anne Hathaway was seen this morning in New York wearing a very gorgeous (obviously) cerulean dress. And I can assume we are all holding back from reciting the cerulean monologue. The actress has really leaned into her role as fashion icon in recent years, but Anne Hathaway’s style during this era of The Idea of You has been impeccable, from her public promotional appearances to her fashion week looks.

For her television appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, Anne Hathaway turned up wearing a Simkhai sleeveless sheer top and skirt with a pleat-like texture and a ruffled hem. Underneath it, she’s got on a blue pencil skirt and a blue cropped tank. She paired the whole look with a pair of pointed toe patent leather teal pumps. She also wore a pair of big sunglasses, maybe another homage to The Devil Wears Prada‘s muse, Anna Wintour.

Anne Hathaway is seen in the Upper West Side on April 29, 2024 in New York City.

This isn’t the first time people have compared Annie’s more recent looks to her movie characters. It’s not even the first time we’ve seen her compared to her The Devil Wears Prada Andy Sachs. Back in September 2022, she wore a brown leather trench coat and a high ponytail that looked just like Andy Sachs’ brown leather jacket and ponytail in the movie. It happened to be at a runway show at New York Fashion Week, where she was seated next to Anna Wintour, the woman who inspired her character’s boss in The Devil Wears Prada.

Just a few weeks ago, for the Versace Icons campaign, she wore her hair teased out and with some crimps, very reminiscent of her Mia Thermopolis before pictures. Icon, indeed.

With the Met Gala coming up next week and with Anne Hathaway in New York for press appearances, we wonder if she’ll be around to see the steps of the Met again this year.
