Arglass and Zippe are joining forces to construct a second Arglass plant in Valdosta, USA. The project is set to be completed in December 2024 and will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2025. This collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability through the use of cutting-edge technology.

The Zippe series factory lies at the heart of this partnership, designed specifically to meet the demands of modern glass production. With a daily capacity of 495 tons for the second furnace, the system is optimized for raw material handling, premixing, and batch transport processes.

The modular design of the series plant will effortlessly integrate into Arglass’ existing infrastructure, minimizing downtime during installation and commissioning phases. Key features of a batch plant include mechanical raw material handling mechanisms such as truck and train unloading systems equipped with vibrating bed feeders and elevators. The silo system can store up to 10 raw materials, with the largest silo having a volume of 500m3.

Arglass emphasizes sustainability by implementing a glass recycling system that supports four IS machines. This system includes scraper conveyors, crushers, drop pipes, and conveyor belts to facilitate efficient recycling of glass waste. Integration of Zippe’s ZMART intelligent scraper conveyor control system will optimize conveyor speed based on chip weight and quantity, reducing wear and tear and energy consumption.

Overall, this collaboration between Arglass and Zippe represents a significant investment in modern technology and sustainable practices in the glass industry.
