A 20-year-old man was injured while operating a straw rolling machine, resulting in a crushed arm that required emergency treatment. The victim was initially treated at a nearby medical facility before being transferred to Xuyen A Long An General Hospital for further care.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, head of the department of trauma and orthopedics, noticed that the patient’s arm was badly damaged. After an examination and CT scan, it was determined that the patient had severed blood vessels and nerves, necessitating amputation to save his life.
The medical team performed the necessary surgery to shape the stump of the patient’s arm and closely monitored the process of his recovery. After surgery, the patient was discharged from the hospital with instructions for wound care and infection prevention.
Dr. Nguyen emphasized the importance of following safety protocols to prevent such accidents in the future and urged individuals to use appropriate protective equipment while working. It is critical to seek immediate medical attention for any accidents to ensure the best possible outcome.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of how crucial it is to prioritize safety when operating machinery or engaging in any work activity that involves heavy equipment or potential hazards. The medical community continues to work hard to provide patients with quality care and educate people about safe practices in their daily lives.
