Dove Cameron joined and her boyfriend, Damiano David of Måneskin, made their Met Gala red carpet debut on Monday in New York City, embracing the event’s theme, “The Garden of Time.”
The “Boyfriend” singer wore a long-sleeved, deconstructed Diesel sheer floral gown by designer Glenn Martens. The gown, composed of 60 meters of tulle and chiffon, took over 20 hours to cut and over 40 hours to construct. It featured disconnected sleeves and a sweeping train that followed behind her as she took the steps, creating a captivating silhouette.
She completed her ensemble with long, blond hair styled in a middle part with soft waves, and a clean makeup look highlighted by a bold red lip.
Damiano David complemented Cameron’s look in his own Diesel attire. He donned a black suit featuring intricate lace cutouts on the blazer and pants, leaving his chest bare to showcase his tattoos.
Cameron’s last Met Gala appearance was in 2022 when she wore a gown by Iris van Herpen. The opulent ensemble was so intricate that she needed to be sewn into it for the event.
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is cochaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
