Florida State University held its annual Spring Information Technology Services (ITS) Town Hall at the Turnbull Conference Center, with ITS staff in attendance. This year, the department hosted its first ITS Seminole Showcase, a half-day conference that focuses on innovation and provides a look at the department’s vision and future projects.

The event, held on April 9 from 1 to 4 p.m., featured speakers discussing innovative technological projects in education, research, and administration. Jonathan Fozard, ITS Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Officer, was excited to share the latest projects happening at FSU and inspire others to create future technological advancements.

The conference was divided into three 50-minute blocks with panelists at the forefront of their fields discussing topics such as generative artificial intelligence and immersive media. Presentations were organized into different areas, including technical, AI, department/project, user-focused, and innovation/emerging technology.

In addition to the presentations, the event included poster sessions presented by ITS student interns showcasing their work and contributions to the department. The event was free and open to the Florida State University community, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest technology trends and initiatives at FSU.
