Fans of Jelly Roll are no longer able to engage with the singer on social media after he was body shamed for his weight, according to his wife.
Bunnie XO, who has been married to the hitmaking country music artist since 2016, reveals that he left the internet platforms because of bullies.
“My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f–king weight,” she said in an expletive-laden TikTok clip promoting the latest episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “That makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby. My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.”
“The internet can say whatever they f–king want about you and they say, ‘You’re a celebrity. You’re supposed to be able to handle it,’” she added. “No the f–k we’re not … Enough is enough. Don’t bully people, because you never know where they are mentally. There are a lot of people who are not as strong as me, that are on the internet and they don’t deserve to f–kin’ be bullied.”
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has been open up about his struggles with his weight, recently revealing he dropped 70 pounds while training to participate in the upcoming Rose Bowl race in Pasadena, Calif. on May 7.
“I’m probably down 70-something pounds,” the 39-year-old Grammy nominee said.
With his upcoming Beautifully Broken Tour, Jelly Roll will hit cities across the U.S. for two months in the early fall.
