Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance on an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Monday. Harris spoke with the daytime talk show host about the fight for reproductive rights.
For her appearance, Harris played with pattern and color. The vice president wore a black-and-white polka-dot blouse with a pussy-bow addition at the neckline. Harris also fashioned a burgundy power suit with her polka-dot blouse, experimenting with color combinations.
She completed the ensemble with a pair of black, pointed-toe pumps and a few pieces of jewelry, including delicate bracelets and a pair of stud earrings. The lapel of her blazer was also adorned with an American flag pin.
When it comes to her wardrobe essentials, Harris is often seen wearing power suits for occasions on Capitol Hill, appearances on talk shows and various events. With the power suit as her style staple, though, Harris uses such public appearances to play with color and patterns.
Upon hosting the Las Vegas Aces Women’s National Basketball Association team at the White House last year in August, she opted for a monochromatic look, embracing a soft pink ensemble in various shades of the color.
For the signing ceremony establishing the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monuments last July, Harris fashioned her signature power dressing style in a classic black tailored suit with an off-white silk pussy-bow blouse.
While the power suit is the main look of her wardrobe, she has worn some designer gowns on a few occasions. For the White House state dinner in honor of Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife Yuko, Harris wore a shimmering Valentino look. She’s also worn custom gowns by such designers as Monique Lhuillier.
