Linda Hamilton, known for her role in Terminator movies, recently spoke with THR about her experiences with the franchise, including the latest installment, Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019. Despite mixed feelings, the movie received decent ratings.

Hamilton shared why she won’t be returning as Sarah Connor and mentioned it’s been a while since she watched Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Some previous Terminator films, like Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys, didn’t receive favorable responses.

However, Terminator: Dark Fate was seen as an improvement, though it didn’t quite match the excitement of the original movies. It currently holds a 70% critics score and an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Artificial Intelligence has become a big topic in Hollywood lately, especially with strikes in 2023. It’s been part of the Terminator franchise from the start with Skynet, a scary AI made by Cyberdyne Systems.

She’s a big part of the Terminator legacy from the ’80s and ’90s. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the face of Terminator, but Hamilton’s role as Sarah Connor was improtant.

When asked if Terminator: Dark Fate was her last time as Sarah Connor, she joked about being shot but said she’s glad she did it.

Even though she won’t play Sarah Connor again, Hamilton doesn’t regret being part of Terminator: Dark Fate. She enjoyed working with the director and her co-stars. She doesn’t watch her old movies often, preferring to read instead.

Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor is a famous character, but eventually, it’s time to move on. Though Terminator: Dark Fate isn’t perfect, it’s not a bad way to end things. Hamilton will appear in the last season of Stranger Things, airing on Netflix in 2025.
