Lizzo wholly embraced the Met Gala 2024 theme when she arrived to the red carpet event on Monday in New York. The Yitty cofounder fashioned an earthy, floral look for the evening’s festivities, joining a bevy of A-list stars who also wore looks inspired by the Met Gala 2024’s theme.
The Grammy-winning singer wore a custom gown and headpiece courtesy of Victor Weinsanto. The look featured a structured, sleeveless dress with boning running down the bodice and skirt of the dress. The gown also featured an upturned hemline with sheer panels of fabric in an earthy brown hue.
Lizzo’s gown also featured several floral appliqués and embellishments cascading down her dress and throughout her headpiece. The headpiece was evocative of a blooming flower, and featured petals along the sheer paneling and boning of the piece, which seemingly connected to the high neckline of her gown. Lizzo’s headpiece also framed the singer’s face.
The “Like a Girl” singer’s accessories included jewelry courtesy of Anabela Chan. She completed the ensemble with Stuart Weitzman shoes. Her hair was styled by Ashanti Lation, with makeup by Alexx Mayo. Lizzo’s look was curated by stylist Reginald Reisman and designer Matthew Reisman.
Among the A-list stars who attended the 2024 Met Gala, several celebrities fashioned looks with floral detailing and embellishments, inspired by the 2024 Met Gala theme. Kris Jenner fashioned a look with dramatic floral appliqués in her Oscar de la Renta ensemble, while “The Bear” Emmy-winner Ayo Edebiri embraced 3D florals with her look by Loewe.
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is notably cochaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
