Madonna closed out her “Celebration Tour” in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night, performing to 1.6 million fans at Copacabana Beach on Saturday night — a record for a standalone show, according to tour organizer Live Nation. The pop icon kicked off her latest worldwide jaunt in the fall after postponing tour dates due to a severe bacterial infection.

For her final show, the singer opted for a custom Jean Paul Gaultier corset featuring the colors of the Brazilian flag. Madonna’s look featured bold shades of green, yellow and blue adorned with rhinestones, as well as the French label’s trademark “cone bra” silhouette.

Costume designer Eyob Yohannes led an entire team of creatives to curate Madonna’s glamorous tour wardrobe. He tapped various fashion houses including Gaultier, Versace and Vetements and Miu Miu to create custom pieces for the pop star.

Madonna’s Rio show, performed free in front of a crowd totaling over one million, featured guest appearances from singer-songwriter Anitta and drag queen Pabllo Vittar. Throughout her tour, Madonna invited several famous faces to join her in judging an onstage Voguing competition — notable visitors included Cardi B, Salma Hayek and Julia Fox.

The “Celebration Tour” was originally slated to start in July 2023, but was postponed after Madonna was hospitalized.

“If you want to know my secret, and you want to know how I pulled through and how I survive, I thought, ‘I’ve got to be there for my children. I have to survive for them,’” she said at the time.

Madonna’s children also featured prominently in the “Celebration Tour” — the singer’s eighteen-year-old daughter Mercy James performed on the piano while her eleven-year-old daughter Estere joined her background dancers to Vogue onstage.
