Boone Health and Audrain County officials are scheduled to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) Friday, with the goal of collaborating on a comprehensive health plan for the county. The NDA signing will be held at the Audrain County Courthouse at 2 p.m. This agreement is designed to allow for a detailed assessment of the district’s health needs.
Audrain County Health Department Administrator/CEO Craig Brace expressed that the signing of the NDA with Boone Health marks an important step in their efforts to establish sustainable health services for Audrain County and surrounding areas. He highlighted Boone Health’s reputation as a regional health system known for delivering high-quality outcomes and their potential to explore the possibility of establishing a critical access hospital (CAH) in Mexico.
Following the closing of Noble Health’s community hospitals in Audrain and Callaway counties in March 2022, Audrain County is left without a hospital. Ziva Medical, the current owner of the hospitals, has indicated its intention to reopen the facilities. Boone Health currently operates two primary care centers in Mexico and provides health services in 26 counties throughout Missouri.
Recently, Boone Health was recognized as one of America’s Top 100 Hospitals by Healthgrades, highlighting its commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery. The collaboration between Boone Health and Audrain County officials through the NDA marks a promising opportunity to address community health needs and improve access to quality medical services.
