Water Linked, a technology provider based in Trondheim, Norway, is presenting revolutionary 3D sonar technology at the Underwater Defense Technology exhibition. The Sonar 3D-15 offers real-time 3D imaging with point cloud generation, enabling precise visualization of the underwater environment. This high-resolution technology is ideal for close-quarters operations such as target identification and inspection of hard-to-reach areas such as ship hulls. Simplifies the interpretation of sonar images compared to traditional 2D sonars.
Sonar 3D-15 is compact, operating depth up to 300 meters and weighing less than 0.4 kilograms underwater. It is compatible with most Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), making it suitable for effective target detection and navigation in various underwater terrains. A user-friendly interface, accessible through a web browser, simplifies the integration process without the need for complex software installations.
Furthermore, the Sonar 3D-15 features a comprehensive application programming interface (API) that enables seamless integration with third-party software, enhancing its adaptability for a wide range of applications. Water Linked’s innovative technology led to its selection for the NATO DIANA accelerator program last November. This program supports disruptive technologies with potential applications in the commercial and defense sectors, demonstrating the versatility and adaptability of the Sonar 3D-15 in a variety of environments.
