In the world of science and medicine, there are rising stars who are making waves and shaping the future. Each year, STAT selects a new class of Prodigies, showcasing these young talents and their innovative ideas at the beginning of their careers. This year’s event promises to be even more inspiring as past Wunderkinds will be featured in conversation to discuss their current journeys and share their most groundbreaking ideas.

The event will feature two prominent sponsors – Lauren Averett Biers, MD, and Koichi Takahashi, MD, Ph.D., both of MD Anderson Cancer Center. The speakers for this event include Dr. Nicole M. Gaudeli, a GV entrepreneur who invented the Adenine Base Editor, a gene-editing tool, and Kellie Jurado, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Pennsylvania who researches the immune system’s response to viral infections in early life.

Bianca Jones Marlin, Ph.D., of Columbia University explores the inheritance of trauma and stress biologically while Siddhartha Roy, Ph.D., of Rutgers University focuses on ensuring safe access to drinking water for all in light of the Flint Water Crisis.

The event will be moderated by Nicholas St. Fleur, general reporter and assistant events editor at STAT. Be sure to tune in at 1:00 PM ET for this enlightening and inspiring conversation with past Prodigies in the world of science and medicine.

This event is not just about recognizing young talents but also about empowering them to make a difference in society through their innovative ideas. It is an opportunity for past Prodigies to share their experiences with others so that they too can learn from them and pursue their passions with confidence.
