Parkersburg’s Jack Mills won the 3200 with a time of 9:38.78 at the Dick Day Track Classic, leading his team to a second-place finish. Mills’ teammate Connor George also had a great performance, finishing third with a time of 9:55.42. Another Magnolia standout, Landen Davis, took second in the event with a time of 9:52.83. The only other point for the Blue Eagles came from Matthew Anderson in the shot put, who finished eighth with a throw of 42-5.

In other events, Parkersburg’s Landen Dilley and Jackson Wharton had two-three finishes in the 400. The duo, along with teammates Connor Petty and Christian Rutherford, won the 4×4 relay with a time of 3:31.96. Tyler Shahan also contributed to the team’s success, helping them secure second place in the 4×2 relay with a time of 1:32.12.

The Big Red also did well in the field, with Jake Bauman finishing third in the shot put with a 48-0. Mills also had a solid showing in the 800, finishing fourth with a time of 2:02.55. Other key contributors to the team’s success were Jacob Bohone, Titan Parsons and Ethan Dela Cruz.

Despite not having any other individual winners, the Parkersburg boys put together a strong team effort and ended up finishing second. They will look to build on this success at the upcoming Russ Parsons Invitational at Stadium Field next Saturday.
