Downtown Columbus business owners are reporting significant delivery delays from the United States Postal Service, which is negatively impacting their business. Janet Morris, CEO of Ranger Joe’s, a business serving the military and law enforcement communities since 1963, was particularly affected. Morris noted that while they have had problems with the mail in the past, the current situation is increasingly problematic. She mentioned a specific incident where a customer in Chicago did not receive his package weeks after she sent it.
These delivery delays are not unique to Ranger Joe’s, as many Columbus residents are also facing similar challenges. Columbus resident Ruth Francis and her roommate have been dealing with delayed mail for more than a year. They even use the USPS app to track their mail every day, but find that the information is sometimes inaccurate. Another resident, Else Bisset, shared a recent experience where the app indicated they had received mail they hadn’t. This is of particular concern to individuals who are waiting for important deliveries such as medicines.
Residents and business owners alike are calling on the USPS to deliver packages on time as promised. Frustration over delayed deliveries is mounting, and the community is hoping for a quick resolution. In response to these concerns, the USPS issued a statement acknowledging the issues and stating that they are working quickly to resolve any issues.
