Finally, a brotherly reunion? Prince Harry and Prince William haven’t talked in a long time, but all of that could change with the Duke of Sussex’s visit to his home country. Prince Harry is coming back to the UK for the Invictus Games and it could likely mean a truce with his estranged brother.

Several sources revealed to Us Weekly that the Royal brothers “haven’t had a real conversation in months.” However, it might seem that they “are open” to seeing each other, noting that Prince William and even Kate Middleton are “done with all the bad blood” amid the Princess’ cancer diagnosis.

“The brothers haven’t spoken [but] there is potential for that. [Harry] would be more than happy [to],” a second source told the publication.

Another reason why the Prince and Princess of Wales might be open to reuniting is for the sake of their children, George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 6. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the US with their son Archie, 4, and had their daughter Lilibet, 2, in the States. “They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don’t want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation,” the insider says, adding that “they want to mend fences with them for the kids’ sake.” Another source said, “Obviously the duke and duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins,”

Another person who would benefit from this reunion would be King Charles. A third source claimed to the site that the King “always wanted William and Harry to make amends.

Though there are prospects for a reunion, there’s a bit of resentment still felt between them. “William is a bit envious of [his brother’s] freedoms,” a source told the site separately. Royal historian Ed Owens concurs that the Invictus Games could be the root of jealousy. “Harry has done remarkable things,” Owen said, noting that the Invictus Games “now has international presences, and I think that international stage is something both brothers are clearly vying for. That international limelight really sets Harry’s work apart from other members of the royal family.”

As if the Prince and Princess of Wales “William and Kate are very consciously focusing on positivity and recovery,” the source told OK! “Harry is due in London early next month, but there are no plans as of yet to meet with him while he’s over. He’s reached out and sent best wishes, but a meeting might be a little premature,” the source added.

Harry reportedly found out about his sister-in-law’s medical news like the rest of the world—via the TV. “It is understood that Kate’s cancer diagnosis was not shared in advance with Harry and Meghan,” The Times of London reported on March 23, 2024. “Several sources confirm that there were no such conversations and it is thought Harry found out about Kate’s diagnosis from television, at the same time as the public.”
