Queen Mary of Denmark departed Copenhagen for an early summer excursion to Fredensborg Castle in Fredensborg on Thursday. The royal was joined by her husband, King Frederik X, for the short journey.

For her travels, Queen Mary of Denmark fashioned two different looks with a particular nod to nautical inspiration. The first look featured Queen Mary in the Iris and Ink Alison Polka-Dot Satin Midi Dress in navy blue and white. The dress featured long sleeves and a rounded neckline along with a belted white line.

Queen Mary continued the white and navy color palette with navy pumps by Gianvito Rossi and a white veil headpiece by Maggie Mowbray Millinery. Carrying a bouquet of colorful flowers in shades of purple, blue, pink and cream, Queen Mary posed for photos alongside her husband of 20 years.

Upon the royal couple’s arrival to Fredensborg Castle, Queen Mary of Denmark opted for a second outfit for the welcoming ceremony. The royal continued her nautical color scheme and wore a top by Boss in white along with a coordinated jacket by Harris Wharf London.

The royal wore a pair of wide-leg dark trousers with a belt by Etro. She completed her ensemble with a pair of heels by Malone Souliers. King Frederik, who also changed from his uniform into a more casual suit, joined his wife for a promenade around the grounds and for photographs.

Prior to their recent early summer excursion, Queen Mary and King Frederik posed for their official portrait, which was released to the public on April 25. The monarch ascended the throne in January after King Frederik’s mother, Queen Margrethe II, abdicated at the age of 84.
