The Mobile County Health Department in Alabama has a law that requires pet owners to vaccinate their dogs, cats, and ferrets. Luckily for Mobile residents, there are resources available to help them comply with this mandate. The Mobile County Health Department offers low-cost rabies vaccines for these animals.
To make it even easier for pet owners to comply with the law, several clinics have been planned for April where animals can receive the rabies vaccine. Clinics will be held at locations such as the Mobile County Animal Shelter, Pet Supplies Plus, Glamor Paws Grooming, and Prichard Animal Shelter.
The cost of a one-year rabies vaccine at these clinics is $12 and payable in cash. These clinics are part of a larger effort to ensure that animals in the county are protected from rabies. In 2023, the program vaccinated 2,004 pets.
