Rosalía channeled the mob wife aesthetic after appearing on Friday’s episode of “The Tonight Show.”
While departing NBC’s New York studios, the “Motomami” singer donned an ivory faux fur coat from Celine‘s fall 2024 line. She completed her look with sheer Wolford tights, white Manolo Blahniks and a pair of black wraparound sunglasses courtesy of Blackpink’s Jennie and her new collaboration with Gentle Monster.
While playing a game of Flip Shots with host Jimmy Fallon, Willow and “Barbie” star Simu Liu, Rosalía opted for an Alexander McQueen ensemble. She sported a black zip-up jacket featuring a peplum hem and a dagger collar. The artist accessorized with Rainbow K jewels.
Rosalía was assisted by stylist Lorenzo Posocco, who is best known for working with Dua Lipa.
Hairdresser Jesus Guerrero styled Rosalía’s brunette tresses in an updo, while her makeup consisted of mauve lip liner and matching blush.
The mob wife aesthetic — characterized by fur coats, heavy makeup and teased hair à la Sharon Stone’s Ginger McKenna in “Casino” and Adriana La Cerva of “The Sopranos” — went viral on TikTok earlier this year. The trend marks a dramatic departure from popular minimalist styles of years prior, when the sleek lines and muted palettes of quiet luxury and pared-down “clean girl” beauty routines were prominent.
Designers have since adopted mob wife styles, sending fluffy outerwear, bold shoulders and seductive shades of scarlet down the runway during the fall 2024 season.
