Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on the West, including Britain, to wake up and take action in response to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In an article for the Daily Mail, Johnson criticized Western countries for not providing Ukraine with the weapons it needs to defend itself against Russia. He warned that if Russia were to defeat Ukraine, it would be a significant turning point in history with far-reaching consequences.

Johnson emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that every week that passes without providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons brings Putin closer to his goal of destroying a European country. He expressed concern that defeating Ukraine would embolden autocracies around the world and weaken the ability of Western democracies to protect democracy.

The former prime minister highlighted the difficult situation in Ukraine, where soldiers lack the necessary equipment to defend against Russian attacks. He urged the US Congress to approve a $60 billion military aid package for Ukraine and called on Germany to supply Taurus missiles to support the country in its fight against Russian aggression.

Johnson emphasized the importance of investing in the defense of Ukraine as a cost-effective way to defend freedom. He warned that the West must act immediately to prevent further escalation of the conflict and protect democracy from the threat of authoritarian regimes. He called on Western countries, including Britain, to wake up from their complacency and stand up for Ukraine before it is too late.
