Shakira surprised fans at Coachella 2024 by announcing an upcoming world tour. During a performance with Argentinian DJ Bizarap, the Colombian singer got up from the platform and performed her new track, La Fuerte. The extravagant backdrop on the Sahara stage changed to reveal “Shakira, Las Mujeres Ia No Lloran World Tour.” Shakira excitedly said that the tour will start in November in the same city they were in.
Las Mujeres Ia No Lloran is Shakira’s 12th studio album and her first in seven years. The album follows the singer’s journey from heartbreak to revival, inspired in part by her breakup with former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique. The 47-year-old teased the post on Instagram, saying “The wolf is coming.” She later confirmed the world tour and expressed her excitement to celebrate with her fans, her “wolf pack”.
Shakira’s last tour was in 2018 after the release of her album El Dorado. Coachella 2024 takes place over two weekends and features headlining performances by Lana Del Rey, Doi Cat, Tyler, The Creator and a No Doubt reunion with Gwen Stefani. The annual festival held in the Colorado desert will also feature performances from London rock group Blur and South Korean DJ and singer Peggy Gow.
