Before their final road trip of the season, the San Jose Sharks on Sunday recalled goalie Georgi Romanov, defenseman Jack Thompson and forward Danil Gushchin from the AHL.

Gushchin, 22, has 20 goals and is the Barracuda’s co-leading scorer with 54 points, including 17 points in his last 14 games. Gushchin, the Sharks’ third-round draft pick in 2020, had one other stint with the Sharks this season and collected an assist in two November games.

Thompson, 22, was acquired from Tampa Bay on March 7 as part of the trade that sent forward Anthony Duclair to the Lightning. In 16 games with San Jose, Thompson had one goal and eight assists to go with the 32 points he had in 46 games with Syracuse.

Romanov, 24, was signed by the Sharks last spring to a two-year entry-level contract after he spent the last two seasons with Gornyak-UGMK of the Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga in Russia.

Romanov has been playing his best hockey of the season lately, going 2-1-0-1 in his last four games with a .955 save percentage. For the season with the Barracuda, Romanov is 9-9-8 with a .904 save percentage. Romanov has never played in an NHL game.

The Sharks play the Edmonton Oilers on Monday and finish the season with the Calgary Flames on Thursday.

The Sharks are dealing with some injuries, as forwards Alexander Barabanov and Filip Zadina were both unavailable to play Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
