Sheer Dresses Are Trending at Met Gala 2024 With Jennifer Lopez in Schiaparelli, Emily Ratajkowski in Atelier Versace and More Embracing See-through Looks

A number of stars arrived to the the Met Gala 2024 celebrating “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York City sporting unique iterations of a classic red carpet trend: sheer looks. From Greta Lee in a sculptural sheer white gown from Loewe to Dove Cameron in a floral-adorned dress from Diesel, many members of the gala’s star-studded guest list integrated sheer materials into their “Garden of Time”-themed looks.

Emma Chamberlain arrived in a custom look from Jean Paul Gaultier. The star’s gown, constructed from a brown lace, was crafted with a fitted silhouette and featured a molded bodice with a full-length skirt.

Jennifer Lopez walked the red carpet in a custom gown from Schiaparelli. The singer’s dress was crafted from a sheer, glitter-adorned textile and featured a plunging “V” neckline.

Greta Lee

Greta Lee walked the red carpet in a dress from Loewe. The star’s sculptural gown was designed in a sheer white material and adorned with small floral appliqués. It used boning to enhance the garment’s uniquely structured silhouette.
