It’s easy to get sucked down the TikTok rabbit hole. One minute you’re casually scrolling and the next, you’re looking for a man in finance or listening to someone’s very traumatic, 87-part life story. My FYP is also filled with tons of product recommendations and while I’ve purchased a few that haven’t lived up to the hype, there’s one viral item that does: Wavytalk Thermal Brush
($40).

As someone who often gets frustrated when doing their hair and ultimately ends up rocking a slicked-back bun (which may or may not be making me bald), I love this tool because it’s no-fuss. Whether I quickly blow out my hair or let it air dry in the morning, I use this 1.5-inch ceramic barrel brush afterward The heated bristles do their job, transforming messy waves into something that resembles a sleek, smooth, expensive-looking blowout.

While my hair is naturally pretty straight, I’ve seen people with all different hair types put this thermal brush to the test on TikTok, including those with natural curls. Initially, I was suspicious of how well it worked, even after watching a ton of GRWM clips. But it really is that easy to use.

Usually, I’ll wrap a small section of my shoulder-length hair around the brush at least once, rolling it up and inward. Then, I’ll slowly pull down, and bam — a bouncy wave appears before I move on to the next section.

The Wavytalk brush
has also received glowing reviews on Amazon, and I’m not alone when I say this is my new favorite tool.

“I love this product,” one person wrote. “It is so easy to use and smooths out my hair too. I have really fine hair that frizzes easy with heat sometimes. I have not had that issue while using this product. I also have cowlicks and I have been able to smooth them out. It helps my hair last longer between washes and blowouts.”

Some people are even hesitant to share how good it is and admit to being surprised at how well it works.

“i’m gonna be honest on reviews , this thermal brush is honestly good,” someone commented. “l like the way it gives me volume and looks like l got a blowout. when l first got it , it took like 30 mins to warm up, not even kidding. but the day after l tried to agan and it heated up perfectly. don’t be scared if that happens to you.”

One thing to note is that this brush doesn’t get hot-hot, but not seeing my hair sizzle has been more of a positive than a negative for me. It still works well, and if I want a more intense curl, I just go over that section again. And, although I briefly mentioned this before, it doesn’t dry your hair, only curls it. So if you’ve just jumped out of the shower and are in a rush, you probably won’t be able to use it (unless you have an extremely powerful, miracle-working blowdryer).

I also own Wavytalk’s 5 in 1 Curling Iron
($48), which comes with a brush attachment and four different-sized wands that snap on and off. While I’ve used it in a pinch and love the ringlets I get from the various barrels, I think the solo brush option works a bit better.

Of course, the other selling point here is the price tag. For just $40, my mornings are a lot easier—and that’s priceless enough for me to buy this brush again in a heartbeat.
