The HEART Initiative at Utah State University, along with the Southeastern Utah Department of Health, will host a conference called “Conversations for Coal Miners and Mental Health” on Tuesday, April 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center in Price, Utah. The conference aims to address mental health issues specific to rural communities in Utah.

Speakers at the conference will include Ashley Yaugher of USU Extension in Carbon & Emery Counties, Amanda McIntosh, a suicide prevention specialist with the Southeastern Utah Department of Health, and guest speaker Dr. Kristen Cozzi, Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at Utah State University.
