In the Pückler Park Branitz in Cottbus, climate change is being discussed. An open-air exhibition will provide an overview of the effects of climate change on the park from April 30th to October 31st, the Fürst Pückler Museum Park and Branitz Castle Foundation announced on Thursday in Cottbus. Under the title “Future Rich. Climate Change Branitz” information is provided at twelve stations in the so-called inner park about the effects on the soil, the water system, the trees and the meadows of the facilities.

At the same time, the effects of climate change on buildings and museum operations would be examined in the castle rooms, it was said. Under the title “Between Roots and Crowns”, the curators of “Symbiotic Lab” also want to invite people to take a new look at the Branitz park landscape with site-specific interventions of contemporary art, it was said. The artists Lea Grebe from Munich, Tayfun Erdogmus from Istanbul and Jakob Kukula from Berlin are involved and want to show Branitz there as a laboratory for the future.

According to the information, the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Berlin-Brandenburg Foundation is also a guest in Branitz and is presenting “Historic Gardens in Climate Change” as part of the cooperation. “Perspectives for the green cultural heritage from Sanssouci and Branitz” presents the regeneration of the trees in Potsdam’s Sanssouci Park. From the end of April, the Castle Foundation will also be showing an open-air exhibition on the consequences of climate change in Sanssouci Park.
