A surprising basketball club transfer was attempted with The Sopranos.

hit series The Sopranos ended in 2007, but the series stars James Gandolfini and Edie Falco made a surprise video appearance in 2010 in their roles as Tony and Carmela Sopranos. Falco told about the video in 2021, but only now the video has been published, says The Variety.

There is also a special topic in the video. It was meant to boost the basketball star LeBron James’s transfer to the New York Knicks. James was about to become a free agent from the Cleveland Cavaliers and all the top teams wanted him.

The video also features, among other things Chris Rock, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee.

The video was played Pablo Torresin on the podcast. In the video, Carmela Soprano says that they moved to New York.

“Now we need to find a place for your friend LeBron to live. What he’s like?” Carmela asks.

“He’s a modern guy, but he demands tradition,” Tony Soprano replies.

Eventually, they end up at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks play their home games.

The Sopranos part starts on video at 9:16.

Like known, the video did not yield results. James then moved to the Miami Heat.

“I can’t believe it didn’t work,” Falco said, according to The Variety.

“Not because of The Sopranos, but because it was about New York. Who the hell can say no to New York, Lord time. But he did.”

The Sopranos aired for six seasons. There were 86 episodes. James Gandolfini died in 2013.
