One of the highlights of Athletico at the beginning of the season, the goalkeeper Bento went viral after a sequence of saves in the final against Maringá, this Saturday (6), at the Ligga Arena. The number 1 took the trophy for goalkeeper with the least leaky defense in Paranaense, with only seven goals conceded.
In the 36th minute of the second half, when Furacão was already leading 2-0, the archer saved four times to avoid Dogão’s goal. There were two shots in the small area and two more landing at the feet of the opposing players.
After the saves, Bento came out cheering a lot and the fans responded with shouts of “the best goalkeeper in Brazil”. The sequence went viral on social media.
Goalkeeper Bento has had the best start to the year of his career, especially after he took charge of the Brazilian team in the friendlies against England and Spain and was praised for his good performances. And it’s been different at Athletico.
After Furacão’s first title of the season, number 1 celebrated the trophy in the centenary year and planned the club’s other challenges in 2024.
“It’s important to start this very important year for the club with a title like this. We have to really value the work. I think it gives us more confidence to have a great season, especially in games at home, to win the tournaments we are playing in”, he stated.
“Now it’s time to continue well, this will make a difference, if we continue to have good regularity. I’m sure that the achievements will come, step by step we think, competition by competition, and things will happen naturally”, he added .
