Eberechi Eze scored Crystal Palace’s only goal in the 14th minute of the match, which witnessed Liverpool players controlling the course of the game.
The shocking result resulted in Liverpool losing its second match in 4 days, after defeating Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, with a score of 3-0, on Thursday.
Alisson Becker returned to Liverpool’s goalkeeper for the first time since his injury, which kept him out of participation for 15 matches. This is a return that Jurgen Klopp previously said could be the way to solve the problem of his team not leaving with a clean sheet from matches.
Liverpool fell to third place at the top of the English Premier League standings, with 71 points, two points behind leaders Manchester City, and on par with second-placed Arsenal, which faces Aston Villa on Sunday, while Crystal Palace raised its score to 33 points in fourteenth place.
