The Turkish economic publication Ekonomim publishes data on the impact of anti-Israeli sanctions imposed by Ankara on trade with Israel.
The publication quotes the director of one of the largest Turkish shipping companies, Mahmut Işık (Medkon), according to which since April 9, when sanctions were introduced, the volume of maritime traffic to Israel has decreased by 30%. Since 90% of exports from Turkey to Israel come by sea, we can talk about a reduction in exports by 27%.
At the same time, the publication admits that part of the export was simply bypassed through third countries.
Let us recall that on April 9, the Turkish Ministry of Economy banned the export to Israel of 1,019 goods in 54 categories, mainly related to construction materials.
