OAKLAND — A 31-year-old man is being sought by police in the sexual assaults of two women in two days last week in East Oakland, authorities said Wednesday.

Oakland Police asked for the public’s help in locating Santieago Pratt, 31, of Oakland. Pratt is wanted in connection with the alleged sexual assaults of a 33-year-old woman on May 27, 2024, and a 37-year-old woman on May 28, 2024. (Oakland Police Department) 

Police identified the suspect as Santieago Platt of Oakland. They also released a photo of him to the media in the hopes of locating him.

Police said one of the victims was a 33-year-old woman sexually assaulted just before 1 a.m. May 27 in the 2000 block of 85th Avenue.

The other victim was a 37-year-old woman who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted just before 6:15 a.m. May 28 in the 1700 block of 40th Avenue. The woman was later located.

Both attacks happened in primarily residential areas.

Police said the suspect may have known the 33-year-old victim. They have not said how he was linked to the second attack.
