TP HCMPham Thi Thu Dong surpassed 29 contestants in the final night on April 9, becoming the owner of the Miss Beauty of Young Physicians crown – Miss HYPA 2024.
The final night of the contest was held for the first time. The 25-year-old girl was named at the top after more than two months of competing, with the participation of more than 60 contestants from 20 medical facilities. Thu Dong is currently a nurse in the Department of Urology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
In the behavioral competition, journalist Vo Huynh Tan Tai asked what role Thu Dong would contribute to the unit to promote the role of young doctors, in the context that Ho Chi Minh City is leading in specialized medical development with the mission The important task is to retain patients and reduce treatment costs abroad. She replied that medical staff always improve their professional qualifications, soft skills in communication and behavior, and how to improve the best image in the eyes of patients and people.
Thu Dong is proud that the percutaneous pulmonary valve replacement intervention technique of the hospital she worked at was honored as one of 12 Vietnamese medical achievements on February 27. This is a step in less invasive intensive treatment. “With the efforts and continuous learning of young medical staff, inheriting the core values left by previous generations, we will do our best to bring the best health to patients,” she said.
In the final night, 30 contestants went through identity costume competitions, hospital uniforms, ao dai performance and presentations. Top 5 finalists participate in the behavioral round.
The titles of 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up Miss HYPA 2024 belong to Dr. Tran Thanh Ngan, Ho Chi Minh City Odonto-Stomatology Hospital and Dr. Le Thi Phuong Thao, Cho Ray Hospital. The third runner-up is doctor Le Thi Kim Anh, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital. Dr. Ly Quynh Nga from Medcare Dermatology Clinic became the 4th runner-up and the best stage performer.
The sub-award for best identity costume went to doctor Nguyen Thi Kim Hanh, City Children’s Hospital. Nurse anesthetist Vo Thi Kim Chung at Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital is the best Ao Dai contestant. Social worker Thai Phuong Ngan, Ho Chi Minh City Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, was honored as an Inspirational Face. Nurse Vu Thi Thanh Hang at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital won the presentation skills challenge. Neonatal Department Nurse Ta Nguyen Huyen My, Tu Du Hospital, was honored in the Media Face challenge.
The beauty of young doctors Miss HYPA 2024 was organized for the first time by the Ho Chi Minh City Young Doctors Association to build and spread the image of a young doctor who is professional, dynamic, and wholeheartedly devoted to everyone. The contest does not limit contestants in terms of height, age, or job position, but encourages a spirit of confidence, brilliance, and meaningful messages they want to convey.
